Remembering Bill Pinkham, a great friend to cyclists
It is with great sadness that we share that Bill Pinkham passed away on May 7. Bill was first and foremost a passionate climate activist, who was active with the Sierra Club, 350.org, and other environmental groups. He was a member of the first coordinating committee of El Cerrito/Richmond Annex Walk & Roll, as well as just about every other bike-related committee in our region including Richmond Bike and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and BART Bicycle Advisory Task Force as well as regularly engaging with the West Contra Costa Transportation Commission and Contra Costa Transportation Authority.
On June 7, Bill’s friends and colleagues from the local biking community rode from El Cerrito along the Richmond Greenway to Unity Park in his honor.
Bill was an incredibly nice and cheerful person, and a joy to hang out and advocate with. Our sincere condolences to Bill’s wife, Wanda Mar.
