Bicycles come in many flavors

AARP just published a wonderful graphic article entitled "Different Bikes for Different Cyclists." It shows the marvelously varied world of bicycles with short descriptions of each. We're seeing more and more of these diverse types showing up in bike showrooms in our part of the Bay Area. Although bicycle sales nationwide have declined from their peaks during the COVID pandemic when people opted to bicycle instead of riding buses, BART, and carpools, bike sales are still above prepandemic levels. Retailers, inspired by pandemic level sales, overstocked bikes and are now offering them at cut-rate prices. Now is a good time to get a good deal on a bike that's out of the ordinary.
